EA FC 25 TOTY: Bellingham, Rodri and Palmer an unstoppable midfield

The star-studded EA FC 25 Team of the Year has been revealed, with 27 midfielders nominated whittled down to just three that made it into the final XI.

Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham was a standout candidate for his feats with the Spanish and European champions, while Rodri was always a shoo-in following his 2024 Ballon d’Or triumph. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer remarkably spent most of the year carrying Chelsea on his back.

Jude Bellingham couldn’t have dreamed for a better year. Having seamlessly transitioned into life at Real Madrid, he collected both La Liga and Champions League in a glittering few weeks at the end of last season, finish the campaign with a career best 23 goals across all competitions.

During the summer, his stoppage time overhead kick goal against Slovakia spared England from an early exit at Euro 2024, proving a catalyst for the Three Lions to reach a second successive final.

Rodri finished 2024 sidelined with an ACL injury, receiving his Ballon d’Or trophy on crutches in October. If nothing else, it highlighted just how important he has been to Manchester City’s success, with the team’s form falling off a cliff without him.

The Spaniard was instrumental as City collected an unprecedented fourth successive English league title, while we was similarly the lynchpin for Spain’s triumph at Euro 2024.

Not only has Cole Palmer been one of the best players in the world since joining Chelsea at the start of last season, he’s been a influential force off the pitch as well, with his deadpan interviews ensuring that the attacking midfielder has started to transcend his sport.

There were no trophies for Palmer in 2024, but it doesn’t bear thinking about where Chelsea would be without him, while his individual accolades tell their own story.
