Noni Madueke: Are Arsenal about to make their fifth signing from Chelsea in under three years?
Arsenal are reportedly poised to bid for Chelsea and winger Noni Madueke after agreeing terms with the England international.
The Gunners will make the 23-year-old their fifth signing from their London rivals in under three years if the clubs agree a deal.
101GreatGoals.com takes a look at Madueke’s situation and the players whose footsteps he would follow in by making the move from Stamford Bridge to Emirates Stadium.
Noni Madueke: Will Arsenal sign Chelsea star?
While the clubs are yet to formally enter negotiations, there is “a sense from all parties that a deal is possible”, BBC Sport sources said.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said he has been told that former PSV player Madueke has accepted a five-year deal until June 2030.
Madueke has made two starts and two substitute appearances at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, although he was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s last-16 win over Benfica after extra time and featured for only 36 minutes of their quarter-final victory against Palmeiras.
Chelsea to Arsenal transfers: Which players have moved recently?
When he was appointed in December 2019, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta took over a squad including David Luiz, who had joined from Chelsea four months earlier.
Here are the players to have made the move under Arteta’s watch.
Willian: Arsenal ‘difficult’
Strictly speaking, Willian had just left Chelsea following the expiry of his contract when the Brazil winger signed for Arsenal in August 2020.
The two-time Premier League winner with the Blues contributed nine assists and one goal – on his final appearence, at home to West Bromwich Albion – before leaving by mutual consent a year later.
“It was a difficult year for me,” he said, via Yahoo Sports, having reportedly foregone more than £20 million to depart early. “I decided to leave, even though I had two years left on my contract. I said to them, ‘Let’s break it—it hasn’t worked the way we wanted.’”
Jorginho: Deadline day signing
A Champions League and Europa League winner during almost five years with Chelsea, Jorginho – a Euro 2020 winner with Italy – joined Arsenal for £12 million on transfer deadline day in February 2023.
The defensive midfielder, who came third in the Ballon d’Or vote in 2021, made 78 appearances before leaving the club shortly before the expiry of his deal in June 2025.
The agreement allowed Jorginho to join Brazilian leaders Flamengo at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, registering two assists in three group stage appearances and scoring in their 4-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the last 16.
Kai Havertz: Chelsea’s Champions League hero
Germany forward Havertz joined Arsenal from Chelsea in June 2023 for £65 million, which was £6m less than his former club paid Bayer Leverkusen for him in 2020.
Havertz netted 19 Chelsea goals in 91 Premier League appearances and scored the only goal of the game in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.
He has scored 27 goals in 80 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, although his 2024/25 campaign was hindered by a hamstring injury Havertz sustained during a mid-season training camp.
Raheem Sterling: Arsenal loanee failed to shine
Once an England regular, Sterling’s exclusion by then-new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at the start of the 2024/25 season came as a surprise.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool forward found Champions League suitors in Arsenal, making the switch on August 30.
Sterling scored one goal in 28 appearances in all competitions before returning to Chelsea at the end of the season, including three starts in the Champions League and seven in the Premier League.
Kepa Arrizabalaga: Arsenal title ambitions
Ex-Spain international Kepa is the world’s most expensive goalkeeper thanks to his £71m move from Athletic Club to Chelsea in 2018.
Kepa’s career has fallen short of that price tag, although he won the Champions League, La Liga and the Supercopa de Espana during a season-long loan with Real Madrid in 2023/24 and helped Bournemouth finish ninth on loan in 2024/25.
The 30-year-old joined Arsenal for £5m on July 1, voicing his ambition to win the Premier League after signing a three-year contract.
Noni Madueke stats
After a youth career with Tottenham and Crystal Palace, Madueke rejected an offer from Manchester United and joined PSV as a 16-year-old in 2018, going on to score seven goals in seven starts and 17 substitute appearances during a breakthrough 2020/21 season in the Eredivisie.
Chelsea signed him for around £30m in January 2023 and the Londoner has contributed 13 goals and five assists in 67 Premier League appearances.
A regular for England at youth levels, Madueke helped Lee Carsley’s Young Lions win the Euro Under-21 title in 2023 and made his senior debut when Carsley was caretaker boss in September 2024, including an assist in a 2-0 win at home to Finland.
He has made six England appearances and produced two more assists since then, including one for Harry Kane’s winner against Andorra in manager Thomas Tuchel’s first away game in June 2025.
